Pinks, Arbeit & Nemeth was established by Steven G. Pinks in April, 1969 when he opened an office in Melville, New York. From its inception, the office specialized in commercial litigation, creditor's rights including foreclosure and bankruptcy law. Prior to 1969, Mr. Pinks was an associate in a Wall Street area law firm (Michael Berman & Associates). That firm engaged only in the practice of bankruptcy law. Mr Pinks joined that firm after graduating from NYU Law School in 1966.
The firm remained in Melville, New York from 1969 until 1986 after which it relocated to Hauppauge, New York. During those years, the firm expanded and has continued to expand so that it presently employs three partners and three attorneys (of counsel) and has a backup staff consisting of secretaries, paralegals, computer operators, bookkeepers and other clerical help consisting of nine people.

The office continues to practice in the fields of creditors' rights, commercial litigation, real estate, foreclosure and bankruptcy law.

Each of the attorneys are highly qualified in the field of law in which this office specializes:

Steven G. Pinks attended law school at NYU and has been practicing since 1966. He now specializes in commercial litigation, creditors' rights and bankruptcy.

Joseph G. Nemeth, Jr. attended Cornell Law School and has been practicing law since 1974. Mr. Nemeth specializes in Real Estate and in Trusts and Estates.

Jonathan W. Lipshie (of counsel) attended the Law School of Vanderbilt University. He has been practicing since 1988 and specializes in commercial litigation and bankruptcy.

Joel P. Stolowitz (of counsel) attended Brooklyn Law School and has been practicing since 1965. He specializes in tort litigation (personal injury and malpractice).

Our offices occupy approximately 7,500 sq. ft. in a modern office building in Hauppauge, New York. All matters are tracked through our fully automated state-of-the-art computer system and reports can be generated on demand. It is virtually impossible for a suit to "fall through the cracks" since the computer has a built-in tickler system. All files are reviewed by the Senior Partner on a monthly basis. The employees of the office are covered by a theft and fidelity bond which protects the clients and the principals of the law firm. There has never been a claim.
The office employees are dedicated to the proposition that all matters, regardless of size, be handled in a competent and expeditious manner. The employees are well experienced and knowledgeable. A substantial portion of the employees have been with the firm in excess of 15 years. These dedicated people know what has to be done in order to successfully prosecute or defend a claim, bring a positive resolution to a real estate matter and to expedite a foreclosure proceeding.
